ACTIVITIES ~ EVENTS ~ EXPERIENCES ~ PERTHSHIRE
For All Ages

Welcome to Oakfield Farm

Oakfield Farm has been the home of the Sands family for the past two years. As well as being a working farm in this very short time we have setup and run various very successful events for adults and children throughout the year including very popular lambing experiences for both little ones and grown ups.

Based just off the A90 between Perth and Dundee, Oakfield Farm welcomes you onto a real life working farm where you can get up close and personal with our animals and learn all about food and farming while making memories with family time spent on the farm, there is something on offer for all ages, big and small.

We have a beautiful farm venue offering seasonal events and experiences, we can also tailor packages to suit individuals so do get in touch with any enquiries.

What a fab morning we all had out learning about lambs. Tessa and Michael were brilliant hosts teaching us lots about the farm and the tasty cakes were a real treat at the end served by tessas mum Irene. Cant wait to join you again on your next tour

A little post-lambing escape for part of the Oakfield crew this week 🌷🦙☀️

We headed down to the Borders to visit my sister and made the most of a few lovely days exploring some fantastic fellow Scottish Agritourism members along the way.

First stop was the stunning tulip festival at Craigie's Farm Shop and Cafe, then on to Beirhope Alpacas for an alpaca picnic and a walk with some very cute furry friends, before a final pit stop at Jacksons At Jedburgh for a cuppa and a play before heading back up the road.

Sadly Farmer Michael was left holding the fort at home, the reality of farm life means getting away together isn’t always easy when there are sheep and a farm to look after (although truth be told, he’d probably choose the sheep anyway).

I think we need to find ourselves a farm sitter so he’s got no excuses next time!

Not so long ago we were wading through mud, now very much enjoying sunshine, rugs off, and breakfast served to the fields ☀️🐴

Happy horses, happy owners, happy yard. It’s been a long winter…bring on summer ☺️

Lambing season is always full-on, early mornings and late nights, and a fair bit of chaos in between. It’s only when things begin to slow down that we get a moment to look back and realise just how special it all is, bringing so much new life into the world never gets old.

We’ve been fairly lucky with the weather this year, which always makes a difference, and now with only a handful of ewes left to lamb, the fields are starting to fill up nicely. Seeing ewes and lambs out grazing, settled and thriving, is hands down the best reward after a busy season.

⭐️ Here’s a little snapshot of lambing time on the farm, tired but very grateful 🐑 ⭐️
